DALLAS -- A Dallas police officer is recovering Sunday after being shot [in the hand and vest] in an Oak Cliff Shopping Center, NBC 5 reported.
The shooting happened Saturday at about 7 p.m. in the 4500 block of Village Fair Place, just west of Interstate 35 East and south of downtown.
Police said a man opened fire after gang officers tried to approach him. The suspect [a parolee] was shot and killed at the scene.
The officer was taken to Methodist Central Hospital in Oak Cliff and was listed in good condition.

I just saw the mother on the news this morning - She's gonna stir up some shit because she doesn't think her little parole-violating darling deserved the "death penality". The cops had better ways of arresting him, they didn't have to confront him that way, etc etc etc
