2 suspects attempt to rob an off duty Officer....Officer says, I dont think so
An off-duty Baltimore police officer shot two men after they attempted to rob him in South Baltimore early yesterday, police said.
The officer was walking to his home at 3:40 a.m. when four men jumped out of an alley near Gittings Street and Battery Avenue, said police spokesman Troy Harris.
One man held a knife to the officer's neck and demanded money. The officer, who was not in uniform, fought the man off then shot him in the upper torso, Harris said.
The other men ran away. One jumped in a van and drove it directly toward the officer, who fired shots at him, police said.
The two suspects the officer shot were taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The one who was shot in the torso was in critical condition. The van driver suffered graze wounds to the head, police said.
Police were still searching for the other two suspects. They have not released the identities of the hospitalized suspects or the officer. The officer has been placed on administrative duty pending an investigation, Harris said.

Robbery of Off-duty Officer
Lets hear one for the good guys!
Let this be a lesson. You would be supprised on how many Police Officers DON"T carry off duty.
When I first got to my agency, I noticed that a few left their weapon in their locker. When I told them this kind a dumb, they looked at wonder at me.
One even said that his wife wouldn't let him in the house with his pistol. When I gave some of them a scenero about something occurring while off dyth, they told me that it wasn't their problem, they were "off-duty."
Oh well, there are those who are POLICE OFFICERS and those who just come to work.

Great job! Hopefully that'll make them think twice the next time they go to rob someone!

A big "DOH!" for the crims and a hip hooray for the good guy.
Best not pick on me off duty, else one will have to give them a severe talking to.the sole advantage of power is that you can do more good.

That's just disgusting.
That officer should be ashamed of his actions.
... I mean one grazing would to the head? No suspects dead on scene? And what's up with the other 2 getting away?
Looks like that officer needs more range time.
I promise you one thing, I bet they'll think twice before they rob another person. The virtue of spirit has no need for thanks or approval. Only the certain conviction that what has been done is right. -Jor El, as played by Marlon Brando

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

Baltimore is a scary city. Have 2 friends that are officers there. When I went to visit they took me on a 'ghetto tour' which was pretty frightening.
Good job to the officer!!!!
