Flagler Beach Arrests 21 Men In Sex-Predator Sting
FLAGLER BEACH, Fla. - Twenty one men -- three from Jacksonville -- are charged with soliciting sex from children after a sting operation centered in Flagler Bleach. One of those accused is an Alabama police officer who lives in Walton County, Fla., according to the Flagler Beach Police Department.
Over a period of four days, Flagler Beach officers, assisted by the state attorney's office and the volunteer group "Perverted Justice," impersonated girls and boys between the ages of 11 and 14 in Internet chat rooms.
"Within a matter of hours they had several what we call 'hits' of predators looking to hook up with young children," Flagler Beach Police Chief Roger Free said.
The undercover officers arranged to meet the men at a Flagler Beach home, where police were waiting to arrest them.
Men ranging in age from 19 to 58 were charged with attempted lewd and lascivious conduct and other charges. Most of those arrested live within 100 miles of Flagler Beach and drove to the oceanside community expecting to meet the child.
Channel 4's Melanie Lawson obtained transcripts of the chat-room conversations, but it was too explicit to put even excerpts on television or the Web site.
Flagler Beach officers identified those arrested from Jacksonville as James Wiles, 53, Brian Ruffino, 25, and David Wagner, 24.
In addition to the sex charge, Todd Spikes, 41, a police officer for the Florala, Ala., Police Department who lives in Defuniak Springs, was also charged with weapons violations. Free said an assault rifle, a shotgun and at least three pistols, were found in the Spikes' personal car.
Police said Spikes also had rope and duct tape in his car, but officers weren't sure what he intended to do with it.
"Our department is committed to protecting the children of Flagler Beach and will use any traditional and innovative legal means to do so," Free said.
Free brought State Attorney John Tanner in the process prior to the operation to ensure all their actions would be legal and those arrested could be successfully prosecuted.
"They were looking for underage females. They expected to have sex with children," Tanner said. "What they ultimately wound up with was a ride in a Flagler Beach police car to jail."
One of those charged said he knew it was a sting and that he wanted to get arrested.
"I just wanted to get myself in trouble," said Oanh Lee, 39, of Orlando.
Each man was held on $10,000 bond. Most had bonded out by Tuesday afternoon, when Flagler Beach police announced the operation.

In the immortal words of that douche bag Johnny Cochrane "Frankly I am shocked and appalled!" It sickens me to think of all these pervs on the internet. You know the sad thing is I had no idea how fucked up society was until I became a C/O and now with the internet, it's even more fucked up! All these sickos have a outlet to use, gives me the heebi jeebies. Whats more disgusting is that LEO was in on this, usually i give benefit of the doubt, not in this case. That POS needs to go to a horrible jai, where he will have to fight for his life everyday. He is a disgrace. The other guys are sick fucks, but the LEO is the worst, he has violated the oath, disgraced his uniform, his agency, his state. It sickens me, i can only hope the judge makes a good example of him.

I'm a sick bastard. I'll be the first to admit it. I've seen 15 year old girls that look like (and try their best to act) like they are 20. And yes, the dress like whores and make me think perverted things.
But the difference between me and these sick fucks is, that's where it ends.
Guys (and gals) have to remember that I don't care how mature these teenagers "look" or "act" that "under that breast," and Hank Williams, Jr. sings, "still beats the heart of a child."
And it's outright stupid that a police officer, who should at least hear of these kinds of stings day in and day out, would do such a thing. The weapons charges probably stem from being in possession of these weapons while commiting the crime.
That all being said, I am going to make a prediction. You read it here first, folks. That within the next 5 years, the media (the same media that made these stings popular) will publicly question the "legitimacy" of these types of raids, since a crime isn't actually committed, just premeditated. (Not saying I agree- just saying it will happen.)The virtue of spirit has no need for thanks or approval. Hang him by his toes and let that pit bull puppy go to town on his christmas ornaments. Give him just enough range of motion to allow him to reach a knife so he can slit his own throat.

I watched Dateline tonight and it was kind of interesting to watch this. I also found out that there is a book being released by Chris Hansen with the same title, "To Catch A Predator"

I have one question.....
WHY!?!
Why screw up a child's life?
It just pisses me off to no end! A grown man having sex with a child. He should be staked to the ground, and beaten daily. Especially the LEO. He made a promise and a commitment to the people of his town to Protect the innocent and preserve justice, and he does the exact thing he promised to protect the innocent from!
That's all I am going to say on this, before I say something that may get me into trouble, LOL.

I saw a sting on dateline one night where they set it up online for the perps to come in to a house and have sex with an underage girl. Only when the pervs got there it was a news anchor. One guy said he figured it was a sting and wanted to get help (yeah right). The best part of it was that after the anchor said they could leave the police had a HUGE bus set up outside to start the booking process. Had a tactical team take the pervs down it was wonderful. They must have caught 20ppl on that show. sick bastards.

The guy that was arrested in the sting may have had a badge and a gun, but he wasnt a Law Enforcement Officer in my book. He was a POS with a badge, nothing more. The Feds need to step in and prosocute him to the fullest that the law allows. Then I hope he gets passed around in prison every single day he is there.

I'm sure being an ex-cop in prison for sexual offences against children won't be very pleasant for him.
