Needy Children Shop With A Hero

They forgot to mention Eaton County Sheriff Dept. But I think this is a wonderfull thing to do for these kids in Michigan. I wish I could have been a part of it too.

It was no ordinary night of Christmas shopping for the Meijer store in Mason. 50 local children were selected to shop with a hero. Local officers from the Ingham County Sheriffs Office, the Mason Police, Leslie Police and others gave each child $100 and let them pick out whatever they wanted. Wouldn't you know it, just like in past years, most of the kids didn't want to buy things for themselves.

Ariel Lehman, shopping: "Knowing that you are not going to get this stuff just for yourself, you're getting stuff for your family."

Employees from the various police and fire agencies, along with those from the Meijer in Mason, raised over $4,000 for the event.

That's great, I'm sure it was just as much fun for the cops as for the kids.
