Dallas Police Searching For Fake Female Officer Who Robs Drivers

DALLAS -- Dallas police are searching for a woman who they said is driving around town claiming to be a police officer and then robbing drivers.

Police said the woman drives an SUV with flashing headlights and recently pulled over a driver near Hampton Road and Fort Worth Avenue in Dallas.

The man spoke with NBC 5, but wanted to retain his anonymity. He said he knew something was wrong when she made a strange request.

"She told me to put my stuff on the dashboard -- my money, car keys. I'm thinking cops don't do this," said the man.

Police report at least two other similar crimes with a woman suspect.

I've never heard of a female doing it before either. Don't they have any better description of the vehicle?

And sorry, I wouldn't be pulling over for anybody if all they have is "flashing headlights."
