ATLANTA -- 92-year-old Kathryn Johnston was shot and killed after she fired on undercover officers as they staged a drug raid on her Neal Street home. Channel 2 has learned one officer now tells the FBI information on the warrant used to justify the raid was not true.

The officers who took part in that raid have been tight-lipped as the FBI has investigated – now, we learn, one officer has talked.

The Neal Street shooting has been shrouded in secrecy and controversy from the beginning. Most controversial is the “No Knock” warrant that allowed Atlanta’s narcotics squad to enter Kathryn Johnston’s west end Atlanta home without waiting for her to answer the door.

Now, and investigative source tells Channel 2, Detective Gregg Junior has informed the FBI that information presented by police to obtain the warrant was not accurate.

In the warrant application, the officers told the court November 21st that a man named “Sam” had sold cocaine to their informant at Johnston’s home. Now, an investigative source tells Channel 2 the actual source of the officers’ information was an alleged drug dealer named Fabian Sheets – who later claimed he had been pressured, after the fact, to go along with the officer’s story.

If true, experts tell Channel 2, Sheets’ word would not have been enough to establish probable cause for narcotics officers to obtain a “No Knock” warrant.

The attorney for one of the officers involved in obtaining the Neal Street warrant tells Channel 2 he was not aware of this new information, but it doesn’t bother him because his client is telling the truth.

Officer Junior has announced he’s retiring from the Atlanta Police Department, in part because of injuries he sustained during the Johnston shooting.

The GBI, FBI and several DA's are investigating this incident and we won't know any of the true facts til this investgating body releases it's findings.
This report is nothing but speculation from an ultra liberal media and I'm damn sure no member of this investigating body has leaked any Info. to channel 2 or any other TV news channel.
