UK Terror Trial
The trial of 6 suicide bombers that attempted to detonate bombs in London on 21/7/05 is on at the moment. The bombs all failed to detontate correctly on 5 Tube trains and on a bus. Fortunately they got their home made mixture proportions wrong!

And their defence is..............It was just a hoax to make a political statement!

Hope their "hoax" lands them in jail for a century, or worse.

It is ironic that 3 of them got on the train at Stockwell, where the Police shot and killed the wrong man, suspected of being a bomber. Shows the Intel was on the right track.

Fortunately the bombs failed to detontate.

A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

So when you have clear Video footage of the suspects on the trains, showing them detonating the devices (which failed to fully initiate), plus witnesses that saw them doing it. How can they plead Not Guilty? They should be charged with perjury as well, and have the 7 seven years added on to their sentences!

How do you add 7 years to a death sentence? Oh wait, you don't kill people over there.
Ain't that some shit. They attempt to kill hundreds of people and will merely sit in prison for years eating their heads off and preaching to fellow inmates. All on your shilling.
I don't understand it. Give them what they apparently wanted. Kill them. They wanted to die, so let them die."Where's your towel Arthur?" -Ford Prefect

Couldn't agree more. It seems that most members of the public are in favour of the death penalty. It's just the politicians who are against. When they abolished the Death Penalty here, they promised a new sentence of Life Imprisonment. That is now worth around 10 years and out in 6.

10 years instead of death. Ok. What's the penalty for High Treason against the Crown? What's the penalty for conspiring to murder Her Royal Majesty's subjects? Do you have a Terrorism charge? What's the penalty for that? Is Crown's Counsel stacking the charges?

The Maximum sentence here is Life Imprisonment. Which is usually expected to mean around 25 years. However, this is quite often allowed to be watered down and it is not uncommon for it to be around 10 (but with good behaviour in prison, out in 6.) Some Offenders do stay in well over the 25 year mark and in some cases the release date is at the discretion of the Home Secretary.

Which, IMHO, should be the case for these 6 individuals. Sorry, ya need to bring back the gibbet and the gallows.

It will be interesting to see which prison they get locked up in, as they are all full! That however is another subject!
