Police Officer Called Hero After Rescuing Marshville Family From Burning Home
MARSHVILLE, N.C. -- Even though a house on Elm Street in Marshville is charred with the roof caved in, a mother and her two young children are safe.
That's because Officer Michael Lovingood ran inside their burning home early this morning, saying, "Marshville Police. Your house is on fire you need to get out of here! She's like 'Are you kidding?' Not believing what's going on."
Officer Lovingood saw the flames as he rode past the home about one o'clock Thursday morning. He tried knocking on doors to wake the family up, but had to kick the front door in.
He found them asleep inside the first room he searched. He believes,"the good Lord was with me on that, and guided me to go to my right instead of my left."
Their next-door neighbor, Robbie Harris, also ran to help, "I ran down there, me and my uncle. We just told them to get out the house. I grabbed the two little kids and the police got the mother and I just brought them over my house."
Even though the community has been quick to hail Officer Lovingood a hero, he says,"I'm no hero. I just did what I hope everybody else would do in the situation. I know the guys that I work with would have. They wouldn't have hesitated; they would have been right there doing the same thing."

Way to go!

A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

What’s that saying?
God made cops so firemen would have heroes.
We are the thin blue line
between you
and all the money in the world.
And no you can't have any.
