Officer resigns after tazing suspect
An Omaha police officer has resigned from the force.
Newswatch 7 has confirmed it is Officer David Erickson.
According to police reports Omaha police officers approached Monte Williams near 17th and Cuming on the night of Nov. 26, 2006.
Officers determined Williams had a warrant on file.
When they told Williams they were going to take him into custody, they noticed something inside his left cheek.
Reports show that turned out to be crack cocaine.
The report states officers attempted to stop Williams from swallowing it.
It's alleged the officer in question used a Taser on the suspect multiple times.
We're told the officer was suspended with pay before his resignation.

So did the officer do something wrong? They don't routinely suspend officers for using a taser, do they?
