GIRL GROUNDHOG

HOWELL, Mich. (AP) _ Woody the groundhog is no Punxsutawney Phil. Instead of a Phil, she's a goundhog filly. Her handlers say Woody will be using her female intuition this Friday to predict whether we'll have six more weeks of winter. Home for Woody is the Howell, Michigan, Conference and Nature Center. C-E-O Richard Grant says Woody has made correct predictions six of out the last eight years. He says female groundhogs are better weather forecasters. Grant says the females are a lot more responsible than males, because they have to care for their young. Grant asks what do males do, except mate and get run over by cars?
