Sheriff: Trucker goes on meth-induced rage
February 5, 2007
ALBUQUERQUE - An Illinois tractor-trailer driver is accused of leaving a path of destruction in Albuquerque in what authorities are calling a "meth-induced rage."
Sheriff Darren White says 28-year-old Eric Dubach of Mount Vernon (Illinois) caused a half-(m)million dollars in damage when he drove his truck through fences and rammed parked vehicles, homes and businesses yesterday.
White says Dubach told authorities in New Mexico that he'd snorted methamphetamine before going on the joy ride.
The sheriff says Dubach's ride ended when he drove through a retaining wall.
Dubach was charged with 29 counts of criminal damage to property.
He's being held on a 100-thousand-dollar cash-only bond.
