The Need for Pancakes
Boy takes car for trip to IHOP, gets in accident
February 21, 2007
EAST COUNTY: A 12-year-old boy who badly wanted to go to IHOP for dinner last night stole his mother's car to get there, then topped off the night with a hit-and-run collision.
California Highway Patrol Officer Steven Reardon caught up with the boy on Crofton Street in Spring Valley after the boy got the car's back wheels caught over the edge of an embankment.
Witnesses called 911 at 7 p.m. after seeing the boy, in a Saturn, rear-end a Nissan Stanza on Sweetwater Road near Palm Avenue. The Stanza was knocked off the road and it struck a fence along state Route 125. The 45-year-old male driver complained of pain and was taken to a hospital, Reardon said.
The 12-year-old kept going. A witness who followed him phoned in his license number to the CHP. Officers were heading to his home when they received other calls about a boy who had gotten his car stuck on Crofton.
Reardon said he arrested the boy, who turns 13 tomorrow, on suspicion of hit-and-run and released him to his mother.
His mom wasn't too happy, Reardon said. She was unaware he wanted to go to IHOP tonight.Molly Weasley makes Chuck Norris eat his vegetables.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd still be kicking my kids ass! It's hard to steal anything while I'm "unaware" if you're handcuffed to your headboard. Of course that kid has probably gotten away with so much stuff for years....

I am with you Lew. My kid would take an ass whipping that my grandmother would be proud of.

It is isn't it? I don't think I've had anything else there since I tried the stuffed french toast almost two years ago. It just sucks that the closest one is 300 miles.
