Close call - Deputy uninjured after being struck by car
We just lost a deputy a couple months back after he was hit by a car, I don't think these assclowns will get an easy ride.
(Aiken) March 1, 2007 - A car struck an Aiken County deputy in the leg Wednesday night, and officials say they caught the man after a chase that ended in a crash.
They say they were arresting a North Augusta man after he refused to stop for a deputy on Old Aiken Road. While making the arrest, a second driver, who officials say ignored flashing emergency lights, suddenly sped toward and struck the arresting deputy in the leg. The deputy was not injured.
Deputies, with the assistance of the North Augusta Department of Public Safety, pursued the second driver along Old Aiken Road to Carolina Springs Road, where the car overturned in a ditch. That was just east of the Atomic Road overpass.
Frederick L. Broadwater, 19, is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill and failure to Stop for blue light and siren.
Jermaine A. Tillman, 26, is charged with possession of marijuana - second offense, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen tag and numerous other traffic offenses.
Both men are being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.
