Texas Senate approves SB 112 - Prohibits confiscation of firearms in disasters

The Texas Senate has approved SB 112 sponsored by Sen. John Carona (R-Dallas), a TSRA-NRA-backed bill that prohibits the confiscation of firearms from law-abiding citizens during a state of emergency or natural disaster.

The House companion bill, HB 258 by Rep. Frank Corte (R- San Antonio), will be considered by the House Defense Affairs & State-Federal Relations Committee on Tuesday, March 13. On the afternoon of Monday, March 12, the full Senate is expected to consider SB 378, NRA-supported "Castle Doctrine" legislation sponsored by Sen. Jeff Wentworth (R-San Antonio), that provides protection from criminal prosecution and civil lawsuits for the lawful use of force to protect yourself and your family.
