Police abuse accusation
January 17, 2006
San Diego police are investigating an incident Sunday night in which a woman was hospitalized after a confrontation with officers at an apartment on 54th Street near Trojan Avenue in City Heights.
The incident began after police received a 911 call about 8:30 p.m. to investigate a report that two young children were being mistreated.

Child Protective Services officials also responded.
Police said Angela Lewis, the children's aunt, refused to allow officers into the apartment. A struggle ensued in a hallway, continued down a stairway and into a squad car.
Lewis was hospitalized to treat injuries to her face, arms and legs. She was released yesterday afternoon.
Sgt. Rod Vandiver said she faces a charge of resisting arrest. Lewis could not be reached for comment.
The police department's Internal Affairs unit is investigating allegations that officers used excessive force, Vandiver said.

She should have went nicely and quietely. As they say in the academy you put resisting suspects to the ground and to the ground hard.
Being the best is not what always counts. What counts is always trying your best.
Remember who you are, and where you came from. That way you never get a big head.
May those that lost their lives in 9-11 RIP, for the things you did not many could do. You left so many behind so that you could save so few. For now we stand strong as one, and will not look back till the fight is done. (me)
