Actually, it's not as they make it appear. Our PD has the support of the town council and the majority of the population. It's a small town with a decidedly different and tolerant viewpoint. They don't like overbearing police officers - and to be honest, neither do I. They know that we can and will be aggressive when we need to.

After the event, I spoke with a lot of the townspeople - they overwhelmingly supported the actions of the PCSO.

In Colorado, unless you have a medical marijuana certificate, the answer is yes, it's illegal. Wrong would be an opinion. (I know, mincing words here...)

All I know is that the amount was significant.

Sometimes, I think both They actually sell T-shirts - "Get High In Alma" We do have the occasional case, but all in all, they are a very mellow bunch. They want low-key law enforcement, and that's fine with me. I really do care about the people I'm charged with protecting. First and foremost, I'm a PEACE officer. I keep the peace, and they know it. And hell, they love it that I have a full beard!!!

My philosophy as an LEO - as long as you behave yourself, you won't have a problem with me. But put me in a position where you want me to put my ethics or my POST certification on the line - my ethics and POST certification wins every time.

Hey, thanks to you and Ken. I definitely appreciate it... and the same to you.

And believe me, I learned early that there is no such thing as routine. I train as much as I can - constantly. I try to be low-key - but I carry the most powerful ammo I can get (Federal LE .45 +P) and plenty of it, always wear my vest with trauma plate, have two backup guns, yada, yada

As last weekend pointed out - things can go south VERY quickly!
