Volunteer Firefighter in Wig and Bikini Charged With Disorderly Conduct
MASON, Ohio — A Wayne Township volunteer firefighter has been charged with drunken driving, public indecency and disorderly conduct after being arrested in a park wearing a woman's blonde wig and bikini, officials said.
Steven S. Cole, 46, of Waynesville, was to appear in Mason Municipal Court on Thursday. He was arrested Tuesday at Heritage Oak Park after Mason police received a report of an intoxicated man walking and driving around the park.
The arrest report said that Cole told an officer he was on his way to a bar in Dayton to perform as a woman in a contest offering a $10,000 prize. Cole's blood-alcohol test registered 0.174, more than twice Ohio's legal limit of 0.08, the report said.
Cole has been a firefighter with Wayne Township since August 2000. Township officials issued a statement saying Cole would be placed on administrative leave.
