Drunk driver puts his car on a brick wall then asks city firefighters for help...DUH!
A Syracuse man was charged with driving while intoxicated Tuesday after police found his Honda sport utility vehicle teetering on a brick wall in front of a city firehouse.
Police are unsure how Nicholas Valentino, 63, of 2347 Grant Blvd., got his vehicle stuck on the 4-foot-high wall near Lodi and Danforth streets.
"You'd have to pop over something just to get on the wall," police Lt. Joe Cecile said. "They're not really sure what his intentions were, but he did spend some time trying to get the vehicle off the wall, and he did try to enlist some of the firemen to help him."
Valentino, who was not injured in the 9:15 p.m. incident, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and refusal to submit to chemical tests.
