Is this just over the new chase policy? I think he also stricted Tasers and choke holds.

DALLAS -- Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle told NBC 5 that his meeting at the headquarters of the Dallas Police Association on Tuesday afternoon was a frank and healthy discussion.

Kunkle said his officers were concerned about his more restrictive chase policy and that they believed he was insensitive to their challenges on the street. Kunkle contends that his new chase policy is a good one and that he can not always make officers happy.

After Kunkle left the meeting, the DPA board was left to decide whether or not to hold the vote of 'No Confidence' proposed earlier this month.

The DPA union president told NBC 5 that they will hold a vote of 'No Confidence' on Kunkle. He said the chief did not satisfy concerns at the meeting and that the vote would be done by ballots sent through the mail to members.

Kunkle has served as chief for less than three years. He was hired to change the department and cut the crime rate.

Dallas city leaders said the chief has their full support.

“I've heard mention of the possibility, and the chief has my full support. I think he's doing a good job for the city of Dallas (and) citizens of Dallas in creating a safer Dallas for all of us," Dallas City Manager Mary Suhm said.
