Gas Prices Out of Control
Gas prices soar - again Chicago highest in U.S.
May 21, 2007 CAMARILLO, Calif. - More sticker shock at the pump as gasoline hits another record high-- topping off in Chicago.
The nationwide Lundberg Survey finds the average price of self-serve regular gasoline his now $3.18 a gallon. That's up more than eleven cents from the last survey two weeks ago.
The latest price beats the previous inflation-adjusted record of $3.15 gallon in March 1981.
Nationwide, the lowest average price for regular fuel is $2.87 in Charleston, South Carolina, and the highest was in Chicago at $3.59.
Oil prices continue to rise on concerns that U-S refiners aren't producing enough gasoline to meet peak summer demand. The summer driving season begins this weekend with the Memorial Day holiday.

3.30 here and its going up every day. I remember that they said back in march that it was going to reach over $4.00 this summer. I really wish it was back to when I thought it was too high at $1.50

The really depressing part? There is not a dang thing anyone can do about it.
And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

Nope. Makes you wanna scream. They are so full of themselves, and are so used to the BILLIONS of dollars profit each quarter that they keep sticking it to us more and more. I will be glad to see the day when we get cars that run on water or something else so that big oil goes under.

What's really sucky about it is that towns in the US are so spread out that you HAVE to drive, you can't just hop on your bicycle or walk to the grocery store, as often it's over 10 or 15 miles away. It's time solar and wind generated power were looked into harder as far as transportation applications.

It's pretty high here too(at least to us here in La.!!!) It's averaging about $3.15/gal right now. Depends on what store or city you get it in though. The little mom and pop store by my house charges $2.95. And from what I've seen these last few days, that's the lowest I can find! Not too long ago it got down to about $1.90/gal. That didn't last long though!
The Chevron commercials, with the little cartoon cars, say your "car smiles" when you use Chevron with Techron gas....

Well....what I would like to tell Chevron is that every time I get gas there, my wallet sh!+s! Lol. It all just flies right out the window!

They need to make a new commercial that says exactly that!

We usually pay 10 cents more a gallon then they do in Los Angeles. They say it's for the transporation fees to bring the gas from the refineries.
Except there's a pipeline from LA to San Diego.

There is something you can do about it: not buy gas. People got along for eons before the car was even invented, we can still do it. I'm just not to the point of unwillingness yet. But when I get there, I will bicycle to and from work.

I paid 2.94 last week here, and was shocked when I was in Chicago and had to put gas in the rental car - it was 3.57. Plus I had to pump it myself!

Come to Oregon, B-Cups! Somebody else will pump it for you.

I pump mine myself all the time. Hey, B-cups, you think you could come down here and pump mine for me once or twice?
