Murder/Suicide Claims 3, Including 7-year-old Child

CARROLLTON, Texas -- A man and a child were found shot to death in front of a home in a Dallas suburb on Monday and police later discovered a suspect dead in the residence.

After getting calls of shots fired in the neighborhood, police arrived at about 6 p.m. to find the bodies of a man in the front yard and a young boy in a pickup truck in front of the house, said Sgt. Patrick Murphy.

He said that witnesses told police that a man ran inside the home. The home does not belong to the man and no one else was in there at the time, Murphy said. He said the home may belong to a friend.

A SWAT team arrived at the scene at about 6:30 p.m. and surrounded the house.

After getting information that the suspect might be lying on the floor, police sent a robot in to confirm that. Police then found the man dead, likely of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Murphy said.

He did not yet have names or ages, but said that the child was apparently the son of the suspect and the man.

Murphy said there were no shots fired at police and police did not fire any shots.

It's more then dumb. It's selfish, and self-centered.

I was thinking today that we really need to have post-mortem trials for people like this. And since they can't go to jail, or be executed, the state should seize all their assets.

I guarantee, it's just plain evil hatred - The asshole was probably doing it just to hurt the mother/GF/wife, even though they didn't mention her.

Luckily, the daughter ran away, or he probably would have shot her too.

Dallas has seen its share of killings like this over the years, almost always to get back at the wife or girlfriend for leaving him - One I can distinctly remember was an asshole who killed his young daughters while his wife was on the phone - He told her he was killing them to hurt her and then the next thing she heard was three gunshots, one for each of the two daughters, then one for himself.

I thought this was a same-sex relationship......then I looked for other stories.

Carrollton Police Say 3 Dead, Including Woman, Child



Coroners have identified the man they believe shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and their 7-year-old son before fatally shooting himself in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office identified the man as 37-year-old Valentin Luna of Dallas. The identities of the woman and child still haven't been released.

At first I thought the woman & daughter survived because I misunderstood the initial reports too. I still bet he did all this to get back at the woman for leaving him.
