Bone Marrow Donor Needed
Family of 16-month-old searching for bone marrow donor
(Chicago)
The family of a young boy is making a plea to Chicago's Hispanic community to help save his life and the lives of others.
Sixteen-month-old Felipe Aguilera has Fanconi's Anemia, and needs a bone marrow transplant, but a donor has not been found.
Experts say ethnic and racial heritage is critical in finding a match. So, the Aguilera family is asking Hispanics to be tested.
Fanconi Anemia is a very rare disease, affecting only about 1,000 people in the U.S.
Testing will be held at the Alamo on Church street in Aurora on May 26th and 27th.
I'm going on Saturday to get tested thought i might help this family out. My wife gave me her blessing so I'll see if I'm a match for this kid wish me luck." The hardest thing about disarming an armed suspect is not slipping on your own shit "

Luck, homie.
And Shepards we shall be,
for thee, My Lord, for thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand,
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy Command.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls will it ever be.

I hope they find a donor for him. I've been registered as a marrow donor for more than 15 years and I've never been called.
If anyone is interested, here's the link to the National Marrow Donor Program which gives information on how to become a donor and resources for those who may need a donation.

Hat's off to you, bro. I hear being a marrow donor is a painful procedure.

Well I just got back from getting tested. Alot of people showed up to get tested it was pretty quick filled out some paperwork, then some swabs with a q-tip in the mouth 10 min. tops. Well I hope they find a donor for this kid, the parents of the kid were there thanking people at the door as you left.

That's a great thing that you did, let us know if they find a donor.

You are a very special person to volunteer to do this. Prayers for all concerned....
I always have special thoughts on Memorial Day of a friend who is alive today because of a transplant she received on Memorial Day due a family's unselfishness.......a little different circumstance...but selfless acts of kindness all the same...
