Woman Was Extra On TV Set
PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh police said a woman who portrays a police officer as a TV extra took her part one step too far by entering a courtroom and pretending to be a police officer.
Kimberly Chapman, 47, is an extra on the Spike TV series "The Kill Point" being filmed in downtown Pittsburgh this month.
Pittsburgh police told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Chapman showed up wearing her police costume at a Family Court hearing for her son, who was facing weapons charges on Monday. They said Chapman told a court employee she was a police officer and was looking for the probation officer on the case.
Chapman's attorney, James Ecker, said she never identified herself as a police officer.
The movie's production assistant confirmed Chapman was an extra, but said Chapman didn't have permission to leave the set wearing the uniform.
Police have charged her with impersonating a public servant.
