Former Denton County Constable Brought To Texas For Charges

DENTON, Texas -- A former Denton County constable who pleaded guilty in Colorado to soliciting sex with children over the Internet has been brought to Texas to face child pornography charges.
Larry Dale Floyd was denied bail and is being held in the Denton County Jail on three counts of child pornography. He arrived in Texas on Thursday, officials said.
The charges in Texas stem from a search of Floyd's home after his arrest in Colorado. Authorities said they found sexually graphic images of children in Floyd's home.
Investigators said Floyd drove to Colorado in July 2005 to meet with a woman he thought was willing to offer him her 8-year-old daughter. Floyd also was interested in a 3-year-old girl and 16-month-old boy he thought were the children of the woman's friend, according to an affidavit.
But the woman Floyd had been corresponding with online and calling for almost two months was actually an undercover Canon City, Colo., police officer.
At the time of his arrest, Floyd was a Denton County constable.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of enticement of a child in November and was sentenced to six years to life in prison.
