FORT WORTH, Texas -- A Fort Worth police officer survived a turbulent crash early Sunday, NBC 5 reported.

Police said Officer Emilio Chavez was driving westbound on Interstate 30 at about 3 a.m. when he was cut off by a car near the Hulen Street exit.

The officer then swerved through a guardrail, flipped over and ended up in the eastbound lanes of I-30, police said.



Chavez only suffered minor injuries, authorities said.

Police said they were looking for the car that started the accident.
