WTF???
We just had a similar case where the mother hit the 7 year old with a stick causing him to need stiches.Lead from the front and always remember those who came first.

Some people should just not be allowed to breed.
Using a hammer to discipline a child? Makes me wonder if the mother had issues in her own childhood. Sometimes these things tend to repeat themselves. Still, thats no excuse. I hope the child is ok and not scarred for life.
