Con-artists cashing in on LAPD deaths...
Fake Donation Schemes Attempt to Cash in on LAPD Deaths LOCAL NEWS
Aug. 1, 2007 (KABC-TV) - Authorities say crooks are trying to cash in on the recent deaths of two officers.
Police say some fraudulent donation schemes have popped up since the officers died over the weekend. Officer David Rodriguez and Detective Mike Selleh died Sunday in unrelated collisions.
Citizens report callers asking for credit card information on the pretense of donating money in memory of the fallen officers. While legitimate funds have been set up to help the officers' families, the LAPD stresses it does not solicit funds by telephone for any reason.

The man who will go where his colors go, without asking who will fight a phantom foe in the jungle and mountain range, without counting, and who will suffer and die in the midst of incredible hardship, without complaint, is still what he has always been, from Imperial Rome to sceptered Britain to democratic America. He is the stuff of which legions are made. ...His pride is in his colors and his regiment, his training hard and thorough and coldly realistic, to fit him for what he must face...and his obedience is to his orders. He has been called United State Marine.

it is just that they know so much that isn't so.
