TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - A monkey who reputedly can outrun a horse is on the run in Tupelo, Mississippi. Oliver escaped Tuesday morning from the Tupelo Buffalo Park and Zoo and led staffers on a chase through the park's trail system before disappearing. Several residents say they've seen the elusive Oliver. One person even tossed him watermelon slices, which Oliver ate before running away again. A Tupelo businessman who wants to remain anonymous is offering a reward for Oliver's capture and return. The reward is a package that includes a weekend stay at the Tupelo Hilton Garden Inn and special tours of the Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum and the Tupelo Automobile Museum. But be warned: Oliver bites. The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal newspaper blogs that David Letterman's top ten Wednesday night -- "Ten signs your monkey is a genius" -- was inspired by Oliver's escape.
