Man upset at BJ's results in another man going down
City man fined $100 for parking lot scuffle at BJ's
BANTAM - A Torrington man was ordered to pay a $100 fine Tuesday for pushing a man to the ground because he parked in a spot reserved for people with infants.
John Longhi, 61, 183 Country Club Road, left Bantam Superior Court without incident after he was told to pay a fine for his conduct at the BJ's store on June 10. After Longhi parked his car at BJ's, he saw Edward Trider, Collinsville, parking in the designated spot.
"He didn't like that and decided to take issue with this gentleman," Supervisory Assistant State's Attorney Andrew Wittstein said.
It wasn't illegal to park there, but the space exists as a courtesy for the customers who have to lug cumbersome car seats to the store, an employee told Longhi. He followed Trider inside the store and yelled at the employees to arrest the man, police said. When he caught up with him and confronted him, he pushed the victim down, according to police.
When police arrived, they discovered Longhi was carrying a .45 caliber pistol and had a valid permit for the weapon.
"He didn't brandish the weapon," Wittstein said.
Part of the plea agreement was that Longhi give up his pistol permit allowing him to carry the weapon in public, the prosecutor said. Two other complaints have been lodged against Longhi for creating a disturbance while carrying the weapon, Wittstein said.

My thoughts exactly......if that was a news paper headline Jay Leno would like that
There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter.” -- Ernest Hemingway
