VISTA: For the first time, the Sheriff's Department will open an office in a county library during a ceremony at noon today at the Vista Branch, 700 Eucalyptus Ave.

Senior volunteers, crime prevention specialists and community service officers will staff the library office. Deputies will also use the office as needed. Hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The Wade Twyman Library Office is named in memory of a Rancho Buena Vista High School graduate killed in Iraq two years ago while serving in the Army.

Undersheriff Bill Gore, Supervisor Bill Horn and Vista Mayor Morris Vance are scheduled to be at the ceremony.

Wade Twyman's brother is a deputy with the department.
