BARSTOW - A man, woman and teen are behind bars on suspicion of repeatedly raping and torturing a woman for two days.
The woman, who was locked inside a bedroom when officers found her Sept. 6, was airlifted to the nearest hospital for treatment.
First though, she claimed her attackers were Milford Bradford Taylor, 38, Kyia Lynell Jones, 24, and an unidentified 13-year-old boy.
Barstow police were called just after 9 p.m. to Taylor's house in the 300 block of Maxine Street to check on a possible rape victim, according to a news release.
It is unclear who called police.
Taylor opened the door in blood-stained clothing and gave officers permission to search his home.
The woman, who is in her late 40s, was found locked in the bedroom, badly beaten and bloodied.
Police arrested Taylor immediately on suspicion of aggravated mayhem.
The woman was flown to the hospital, where she was treated for multiple injuries, including a deep laceration to her forehead.
The woman told officers that she had met Taylor just a few days before.
"She voluntarily was at the house where the crimes took place, to start," Barstow spokesman John Radar said. "Obviously it escalated from there."
The motive remains unclear.
Jones and the teen were later arrested though police declined to say how the teen was involved.
Both are Taylor's neighbors.
Taylor and Jones are charged with forcible rape in concert, sodomy, torture, false imprisonment by violence, criminal threats and assault, according to San Bernardino County Superior Court records.
Jones has no prior record in the county.
Taylor has previously been charged with burglary and willful cruelty to a child.
A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

What, is it the season for kidnap, rape and torture? I like Lawdog32's idea, even if it is more humane than they deserve.
