You know Ducky the scary thing is my jail last year had maybe 10 pervs in it. This year we have probably 40.(please no Arkansas jokes, I know you all want to say them) It has gotten to be a sick world and it scares me for my young children. Anyway I won't steal away from this post, It's a good one and I'm happy they found her.

We have a bunch in our jail here too. We just sent an 82 yo male to prison for life (joke huh) for sex crimes commited on his step daughter years ago.

I also heard on the news today that there is a couple sexual predators that are missing. Up and left without changing addresses

Safe is kind of a relative thing for that child at this point. The kind of things that sit deep in her mind are the kinds of things that create major issues later. I hope and pray that this little one gets the help she needs to be able to fight the demons that are in there.

Nothing has changed. We as a society are just paying more attention to the predators. The public demands that they stay off the streets, the politicians know it is a hot button issue, and we clean up the mess. Conclusion, there are more of these shits in jail. Hopefully we will start executing them sooner rather than later.

The internet has loosened the morals of some. The people that prosecute these crimes noticed an interesting and very disturbing trend a few years ago. Every time there was some article about child pornography on the web, there was a surge in searches for sites catering to that perversion.

Some people are so eager to be sexually titillated, they lose site of who is being used for their gratification.

Look at the guy who "found" the tape. He may well have come across it accidentally, but he held on to it for five months. He showed it to others, who also never reported it to anyone.

Their guilty pleasure superseded any thoughts of a victim in distress. What happened to the switch in their souls that should have set off revulsion alarms? Where were their protective instincts?

Think about this too. People can freely say "I don't like kids," and it will usually go unchallenged. In fact, people may even smile, and reel off a list of negative attributes. We've made it socially acceptable to denigrate our children.

Why do you think we now have "state mandated" reporting? It's because people no longer feel that moral obligation to intercede.

I pray for that dear little girl, and hope that there will be lots of adults to step in and help her towards recovery.

She deserves so much more then she's had so far.

I completely agree. However, the investigator that works my area owes me lunch so I might be able to hang around.
