Colorado Troopers..
Troopers remain hospitalized after being hit on I-76
ADAMS COUNTY – The two Colorado State Patrol troopers injured in a serious accident Thursday afternoon are still being treated at Denver Health Medical Center.
The state patrol says the two troopers were helping a motorist load two plastic farm chemical tanks back onto a trailer on Interstate 76 when a green Ford F-150 pickup heading east went off the interstate to the left and hit them.
Authorities say the accident happened at about 4:40 p.m.
One of the troopers was airlifted to Denver Health where he remains in critical condition. The second trooper was taken by ground ambulance to the same hospital with serious bodily injuries.
The driver of the Ford F-150 and the driver who was loading the tanks were not injured in the crash.
All lanes of eastbound I-76 and two lanes of westbound I-76 were closed for part of Thursday afternoon, but have since reopened.

Our flashing lights are like a bug light to a moth. People can not help but stare at them and lose all ability to drive a vehicle. Not that most people in this country have a clue when it comes to driving anyway.

Troopers Identified
The two Troopers have been identified.. Unfortunately I know one of them. Here is the the story;
ADAMS COUNTY – The identities of two Colorado State Patrol troopers injured in a serious accident Thursday afternoon have been released.
Trooper Zachariah Templeton, 27 and Trooper Scott Hinshaw, 38 both remain at Denver Health Medical Center.
The state patrol says the two troopers were helping 65-year-old Terrence Rice of Erie load two plastic farm chemical tanks back onto a trailer. The tanks had come off of the trailer on Interstate 76. As they worked together, a green Ford F-150 pickup heading east went off the interstate to the left and hit the two troopers. The driver of the truck, according to CSP, was a 17-year-old male.
Authorities say the accident happened at about 4:40 p.m. Thursday.
CSP says the teen had not realized traffic was slowing in time and suddenly hit the brakes before steering to the left to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of him. The teen and his 16-year-old passenger were both wearing seat belts and were not hurt. Rice was also not injured.
Templeton was airlifted to the hospital and he is listed in critical condition. Hinshaw was taken by ground ambulance to the hospital where he remains in serious condition.
CSP says alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the accident and that charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
All lanes of eastbound I-76 and two lanes of westbound I-76 were closed for part of Thursday afternoon, but reopened later in the day."Regulators, we regulate any stealin' of his property and we're damn good too. But you can't be any geek off the street. You gotta be handy with the steel if you know what I mean, earn your keep, Regulators! Mount up!"

All the more reason to restrict driving licenses to an older age when they become more mature and can actually handle driving 4000 lbs down the road.
