According to a statement released by the Department of Public Safety, Roy Meyer, Director of the Office of Highway Safety, was arrested by the Pierre police department Wednesday morning for driving under the influence.
The statement says that the department is very disappointed by the situation and is not taking it lightly. Meyer has been placed on administrative leave until the department has the opportunity to fully review the situation.
I have a feeling someone may be losing a job over this.
What I say is my opinion, not my employers or that of my academic institution.

Highway Safety Director Resigns

The South Dakota Department of Public Safety has accepted Office of Highway Safety Director Roy Meyer's resignation, according to a press release. The resignation will be effective Monday, October 29th.
The resignation follows Meyer's October 23rd arrest for driving under the influence. Secretary Tom Dravland, Department of Public Safety says, "As leaders in the Department of Public Safety, we're held to a higher standard. This is a disappointing situation."
Not very surprising to me.What I say is my opinion, not my employers or that of my academic institution.
