A girl is in protective custody in Hennepin County Tuesday, after authorities said her mother offered to let men have sex with the five-year-old. Police said it might not have been the first time.
Prosecutors charged 24-year-old Arika Pamonicutt, of Minneapolis, with promoting prostitution and endangerment of a child.
Investigators said she berated her five-year-old girl, offered the child up for sex and bragged the child already knew how to give oral sex.
In a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, prosecutors said people noticed Pamonicutt "yelling," "shoving," and "calling" the little girl obscene names on Saturday.
According to the complaint, Pamonicutt took the little girl with her while she tried to solicit herself for prostitution. But then police said she involved her child.
"She asked two men if they wanted to engage in some sexual activity with her daughter. And the two men just walked away," said Minneapolis Police Sgt. Jesse Garcia.
When one woman objected, police said Pamonicutt broke a car mirror and told the woman then child performs sex acts "every day."
"I would say it's an unfit mother, someone that shouldn't have kids. Someone that shouldn't be around children," said Sgt. Garcia.
No one answered the door at Pamonicutt’s south Minneapolis home when 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS went to talk to her Monday.
Pamonicutt has two convictions for disorderly conduct. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS could not find a current lawyer who represents her.
