Disneyland Closes Ride For Renovations

Yep, you guessed it - "It's A Small World" attraction will be closed for a little renovation. Seems that when the ride was designed, the boats were built to hold "X" amount of weight and the water channel was just so deep. Well, the new generations of folks are apparently a bunch of fat asses and the boats are bottoming out and getting stuck.

So, Disneyland is closing the ride to make the channel deeper so everyone can partake of the wonderful melody that plays as you travel through the "Small World"

That song has played in my head in an endless loop since I first took the ride as a child, and consequently I have based my entire life and political ideology upon it.

I like how the local news reported that the depth of the channel was being increased due to "fiberglass buildup" that has occurred over the years of regular repairs. I laughed out loud when that came across my t.v.! I second the "fatass" assessment; it's 'cause more flesh is being pressed into those little boats!!!

A few years ago we took my son for his first time. My wife and mother were just going on and on about riding that stupid ride. I really didn't want to go for the very reason you've all said; I knew I'd never get that damn song out of my head.

Funniest shit, though a family of Samoans were in the boat ahead of us and they insisted their party be split up. The kids seating us in the boats put them all in one and you guessed it... they bottomed out! They ragged on that poor kid saying he should never put them in the same boat. Seemed the family of Samoans knew better. They were a HUGE lot!

Disney should have a ride called "The Weight Drop" where larger than life visitors can undergo like a regimented diet in a boot camp setting for several days while they visit.
