Give it a try. The read is long but interesting.

I know this for a fact. I helped work a vote buying investigation when I was employed by my former agency. Two civilians and a Parish councilman were arrested. The investigation was conducted by the state with a division from the states attorney generals office.
When the investigation was over none of the arrestee's were prosecuted, the investigator and his entire unit were fired and the unit disbanded.
The councilman went on to win his election and is still on the council.
Welcome to Louisiana. The politicians are practically untouchable.
We had a former sheriff who was indicted for some shit. Was, I believe, incarcerated, at least for a short time, came back and was elected again.
No surprise here. These type politics continue til this day.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me

Suspected voter fraud has been a hot topic in Mississippi for years. There is no voter ID requirement and most of the voter rolls have not been purged in forever. Every year the debate about requiring ID comes up and it becomes pretty heated. The anti-ID crowd has won out so far with the consensus being that it is anti-minority and it seems like a throwback, dangerously close to the old "poll tax" that was used to discourage minority voters years ago.
IMO it's extremely hard to get through life in this day and age without SOME form of ID. Even if it's just a utility bill and a social security card. It makes me wonder what the real reason is for being anti-voter ID.*************************"It wouldn't take much for me to up and run...to another life somewhere in the sun."

Where I vote the old folks will not let you touch a ballot until they see an ID. I voted in uniform and they stood their ground until I showed ID. Made me very happy to see people that took their responsibility so seriously.
