Police shooting near Orlando FL caught on tape

A shootout with police in Altamonte Springs FL was caught on camera.
On Thursday night, police released dashboard camera video showing what happened Thursday morning when investigators said Franklin Castro, 34, robbed a man at the Remington Inn and Suites on Douglas Avenue. Castro then allegedly kidnapped his own friend, 21-year-old Joshua Lopez, at gunpoint.
Castro ordered Lopez to flee the scene. When Lopez stopped and Officer Mike Lavoie walked up to the car, Castro opened fire.
Lavoie returned fire. Castro was shot multiple times.
"Obviously when you're in a situation like this, everyday we're facing this sort of thing, and this subject fired shots at our officer, and he was justified at this point in returning fire," said Allen Greene from the Altamonte Springs Police Department.
Castro was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
Lopez was questioned and released by police.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been called in to investigate.
