Supreme Court Will Hear D.C. Guns Case
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1
The Supreme Court said Tuesday it will decide whether the District of Columbia can ban handguns, a case that could produce the most in-depth examination of the constitutional right to "keep and bear arms" in nearly 70 years.
The justices' decision to hear the case could make the divisive debate over guns an issue in the 2008 presidential and congressional elections. The government of Washington, D.C., is asking the court to uphold its 31-year ban on handgun ownership in the face of a federal appeals court ruling that struck down the ban as incompatible with the Second Amendment. Tuesday's announcement was widely expected, especially after both the District and the man who challenged the handgun ban asked for the high court review.

If done right....this could be the end of Gun Control Bullshit for the next hundred years. I am looking forward to this because I think the Vestal Virgins of the Potomac will uphold the lower court ruling about bans being incompatible with the second ammendment.
I hope, I hope, I hope....

To be the contrarian . . .
Only to be reworked into a new law that will have to go through the same motions again.
If there is nothing learned from professional politicians, it is that they will ramrod what they can, as often as they can until they get what they want. There are those rare exceptions where good laws actually make it past the socialists, like HR 218. But how many years and deaths did that take before being signed into law?
The saving grace is that since DC is not a state, it is bound by federal rules and the federal constitution.
Any ideas when a decision will be expected?

This is probably the most important case to come before te Surpreme Court. In short the 2nd Admendment is the only one of the Admendments in the Bill of Rights that refers to the right of the prople but the lower courts have saif it's not and only a collective right or the states. If this one goes down which one will be next, free speech?
As far as HR218 goes, that's a joke. It's being ignored by a lot of police administrators around the country. If you're retired Good Luck!!
