Prayers for Officer Bezdek
Officer Bezdek, an officer for Cincinnati Police Dept, was injured yesterday trying to deploy stop sticks. He has not awakened since the accident and is currently still in critical condition. Please keep him in your prayers...

Deploying stop sticks is always dangerous, as is our job, by it's very nature. I hope he pulls through.

First of all prayers enroute for him and his family, I hope all turns out ok. Second what is a stop stick? I guess I could do a google search, but now I am curious, as I don't know what that is.

In 2007 an officer in my department was critically injured in the line of duty while attempting to deploy stopsticks. As he was standing outside his vehicle with the sticks, the fleeing vehicle lost control and struck him almost killing him. He suffered severe trauma and was only saved due to the quick actions of fellow officers and a medical helicopter that was already airborne. His wife submitted this video she had earlier produced for a brain trauma conference.
