Person killed after falling from U.S. 60 overpass, hit by police van

A person died Saturday morning after falling from the Lindsay Road freeway overpass onto eastbound U.S. 60 and was run over by a Mesa Police Department command van, said an Arizona Department of Public Safety official.
The right three lanes of eastbound U.S. 60 were closed east of Gilbert Road and west of Lindsay, but reopened Saturday afternoon.

Am I the only one that had the first thought of this was an intentional suicide? See a police van coming, then dive in front of it?

This was my thought as well. [scumbag attorney] The van should have seen him contemplating a jump, taken evasive action, talked him down and saved his life. Instead, they saw him jump and ran over him.

The way they are reporting it, the guy was driving, broke down, got out of his car and at some point, walked into traffic and the path of the"van" (which is a huge command unit, not a van).
Still not sure where the other source got that he fell from an overpass.

Actually, I think JD Buck Savage arrested that jumper once upon a time.
