Chief/only officer on leave.
http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/12341656.html
I grew up in that town, and it is only 7 miles from were I currently live. The guy isn't that bad of a cop, but he does like to gossip a lot.
He once threatened my wife that I shouldn't go to court over what he charged me with because he knew that with my record, which consists of nothing but traffic tickets, that I would be found guilty. That case was dropped by the city by the way.
Anyways, I have no idea why he is on leave and I doubt we'll find out anytime soon.
Just thought I'd show y'all that sometimes something does happen in Iowa.

Shesh,, it would be tough being the only police officer in a city. I know I get grief on the job almost daily, but if you are the only officer and they all know you and everything about you that would be tough. I like my anonymity when I'm off duty, and not being the only "asshole pig" when I am in uniform...

As far as the admin leave we will see whats up soon enough I guess.........................

Some of the comments on that link piss me off. Everyone seems to know everything about law enforcement.
It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Nsb, I just heard a rumor, that even if he is allowed to come back, he may not want to. Another rumor it is the trouble is small politics with a new mayor.
He may go work part-time for another small agency (I used to work for) another 1 full-time(chief) & 2 un-paid reserves which might piss off the reserves a little.

KC, I have heard the rumor that it is a bullshit problem between the new mayor and Chief. They have NEVER gotten along and I'm sure more than a few citations have been issued to that family.
