Hate Group to Protest Slain Officer's Funeral

Sergeant William Biggs, left, and Officer Tom Ballman were shot and killed at a city council meeting last week.
The Topeka, Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church, known for its disgraceful and disrespectful protests at the funerals of fallen American soldiers, has announced they will be protesting at the funeral of slain Kirkwood police officer Tom Ballman on Tuesday morning.
Officer Ballman, along with Sergeant William Biggs, were ambushed and brutally gunned down at a Kirkwood, Missouri, city council meeting on February 7.
The fanatical church, which protests just about everything they can under anti-gay auspices, has lost lawsuits totaling more than 5 million dollars for past protests at funerals of soldiers, sailors, and airmen killed in the War on Terror and has prompted legislation to outlaw protests and funerals.
The Kirkwood Police Department has suffered tremendously over the past three years following the 2005 ambush slaying of Sergeant William McEntee, whose killer was sentenced to death two weeks ago. A memorial erected in Sergeant McEntee’s memory was vandalized shortly after being unveiled and a group of local high school students are rallying to free his killer.
Please in holding the all Kirkwood police officers and the families of Officer Ballman and Sergeant Biggs in your prayers as this fanatical hate group attempts to diminish the memories of these two fallen heroes.Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well tried before you give them your confidence.
[George Washington (1732 - 1799)]

We are talking about a group that threatened to picket the funeral of the Amish girls.....
They are looking for press coverage.....
We had a full Ops plan in place when they threatened to show up for a soldiers funeral here...they never showed up.
And many thanks to the Patriot Guard for showing up...you rock!

I lived in Kirkwood, would gladly make the roadie to kick some westboro hater ass
500 fights, that's the number I figured when I was a kid. 500 street fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate tough guy. You need them for experience. To develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then, after, you realize that's what you are.

I'm still not showing these funerals as mission rides. PGR will only participate by invitation.

We dallied under
Vine maples and sapling alders
Searched for lady slippers
But instead
Found blackberry riots and
Desiccated branches
An old skid road
Brought ghost ferns and
Hollows filled with
Skunk cabbage
While waves wrapped
Intricate lacings of weeds
'Round mule spinners
His cyanotic eyes
Were hard enough to make
The sun turn tail and
Tender enough to attract me
To his world of illusion

I have a sneaking suspicion doing this at a police funeral might be a tad more dangerous for them than doing it at a military funeral.

What in the hell would they be protesting about? As distasteful as I find them, at least the anit-war message has a shred of logic to it, twisted and hateful, but logic. What is their problem here??

It has not been on the news about them showing up to the funeral as of yet. Hopefully Beans can come in and confirm or deny the presence of the morons.

We do that for a local PD as well when they have their annual officers memorial celebration.
Maybe just maybe the news is finally learning to respect the people that have given so much and paid the ultimate price in not giving these f'ing protesters any air time. But thats probably not likely.Being the best is not what always counts. What counts is always trying your best.
