Man kills daughter for text-messaging boy
A father who said he was upset with his teenage daughter for text-messaging a boy has been arrested on charges of killing the girl, whose burned body was found stuffed in the boiler of his apartment building, police said.
The 34-year-old man called police Saturday morning, claiming he had strangled his 14-year-old daughter the night before because of the text messaging and had dumped her body in a wooded area, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.
The girl had been visiting Miguel Matias but lived in Pennsylvania with her mother and two sisters. The parents were separated, and Matias had visitation rights. He had a history of emotional problems and was institutionalized after trying to set a car on fire with children inside in Pennsylvania, Kelly said.

The daughter, believed to be in the car when Matias tried to burn it, was the only child visiting him at the apartment, Kelly said.
Kelly couldn't say whether the teen was dead before she was stuffed into the boiler, and the medical examiner's office is to determine the cause of death.

May she rest in peace and I'll keep her family in my prayers.

A Smile
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.
It enriches those who receive it,without making poorer those who give.It takes but a moment, but the memoryof it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that hecan get along without it,and none is so poor but thathe can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,or stolen, for it is something that is of novalue to anyone until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.Give them one of yours, as none needs a smileso much as he who has no more to give.

After the week I've had, I can almost - ALMOST - sympathize. Almost.
I would have stopped with a Bart and Homer-esq strangulation though. "Why you little...!!!" "gaaaah"\\` ` ` ` < ` )___/\
