Mohammed Awais Asghar, 18, of Chippendale Street, Radford, is accused of possessing 177 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply, as well as possession of a lock knife.

Dana McElvaney, 18, of St Saviours Gardens, The Meadows, is accused of possessing 69 wraps of class A drugs with intent to supply.

Their arrests come after increased police patrols in The Meadows area, specifically aimed at targeting the problem of drug dealing on the estate.

Sgt Gary Cooke, the Safer Neighbourhood Team Leader, based at The Meadows, said: "In recent months, these officers have successfully targeted the dealers who fuel crime and misery in our neighbourhoods.

"In the past eight weeks alone, a total of 246 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine have been seized from suspected dealers, along with substantial amounts of cannabis."

The extra patrols are funded by the City Council's local area committee and have been running for around two years.

Asghar appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' court yesterday 10 and has been remanded in custody until his next appearance no date available for this yet.

McElvaney has been released on conditional bail and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on April 17.

The male mentioned had 177 wraps in his pocket. That is a massive amount for a street dealer he wasn't a courier or smuggler just a dealer. Was he a cheeky b*st#*d or just stupid.
