TV Truck Drag Race
RACING TV TRUCKS
EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Talk about a TV ratings race! It was channel 4 versus channel 7 at an El Paso, Texas, drag strip. Live broadcast trucks from the CBS and ABC affiliates were at the race track for news coverage. Fans at the track apparently convinced the TV crews to stage an impromptu drag race. Kevin Lovell, general manager of KVIA channel 7, says station employees weren't thinking. He adds it was a stupid thing to do, but no one will be fired. Some people at the track took video of the racing TV trucks and posted it on YouTube.

I have heard that once upon a time there were two neighboring police departments that were near a small airport. No planes ever came in late at night and sometimes these small departments would hold police car drag races on the runway. I never knew exactly where these departments were and never comfirmed the truth about it.
