2 kids injured after gun hidden in oven goes off

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two children were injured by stray gunfire from a weapon that was hidden inside an oven.
It happened Friday on the 4800 block of South Racine. Police say when the oven was heated for cooking, the weapon fired.

A 4-year-old boy is in stable condition at a hospital. His 12-year-old brother was treated and released.
Police have charged 24-year-old Anthony Smith of Chicago with two counts of endangering the life of a child for hiding the gun in the oven.
