Another Badger arrested on stolen property charge

Another member of the Badger family is getting to see the inside of the Ouachita Correctional Center.

Ouachita Parish sheriff’s investigators arrested Brandy L. Badger, 25, of 123 Glenwood Drive, West Monroe, this morning on one count of illegal possession of stolen things.

Investigators arrested her at a convenience store in the 5600 block of DeSiard Street.

Bond is $5,000.

She is the fourth Badger family member arrested in connection with a burglary scam that spans three states.

Authorities said they believe the ringleader behind the crimes is Craytonia Badger, 27, of Monroe.

He is currently being held on burglary charges in Vernon Parish and has a detainer on him from Port Gibson, Miss.

He is also being investigated for burglaries in Vicksburg, Miss., Minden, Grambling and several cities in Arkansas.

Capt. David Harris with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office said investigators found stolen items when they found Craytonia Badger on March 20 at Motel 6.

Craytonia Badger was reportedly driving a car belonging to his sister, Brandy Badger.

Deputies said she showed up at the scene during her brother’s arrest and demanded her keys, telling them that all of the items in the car belonged to her.

Investigators obtained search warrants for Craytonia Badger’s motel room and the car and found stolen goods inside both.

A warrant was then issued for Brandy Badger’s arrest.

Harris said investigators found a television and stereo equipment reported stolen out of Arkansas in Brandy Badger’s car.

Craytonia Badger’s mother, Estar Badger, 45, was arrested earlier this week on one count of illegal possession of stolen things.

Ouachita and Vernon Parish sheriff’s deputies searched Estar Badger’s house on March 5 and seized a large amount of stolen goods.

Another sister, Brittany Badger, 18, was arrested the day of the search on the same charge as her mother. She admitted to deputies that she knew at least one television was stolen.

Craytonia Badger’s girlfriend, Nicole Denise Wright, 29, was arrested on accessory charges in connection with the Vernon Parish heist. Officials said she rented the U-Haul Craytonia Badger and someone else used to haul away stolen goods.

Deputies questioned Shemeka Badger, 24, about the burglaries and during the investigation learned there was a warrant for her arrest in connection with an unrelated Jan. 17 incident at Wal-Mart.

She reportedly had sex for money in the bathroom.

Officials are investigating the crime again. They said they believe someone may have used Shemeka Badger’s name to conduct the business transaction.

Estar Badger’s husband, Johnny Davis, is being sought in connection with the scam.
