A bondsman says TV's Dr. Phil has posted $30 thousand bond for the ringleader of the eight Lakeland teens accused of kidnapping and beating a girl in front of a video camera.

It's believed Mercades Nichols will be talking about the case on his nationally syndicated show soon.

Some parents had complained earlier this week that they could not afford the high bond set by the judge.

However, six of the eight were out of jail Saturday.

All eight teens face kidnapping and battery charges. Kidnapping carries a penalty of up to life in prison.

I heard this morning he bailed her out so she could be on the show..Still wrong if you ask me..Those girls deserve what they have coming to them. I can only imagine what the whole video shows....

That's exactly what I mean by this. The media and media stars will do whatever it takes to get ratings. The things you see on the screen doesn't match what they will do to get it there.

Staff members of the talk show helped Mercades Nichols — one of eight teens facing charges in the case — post bond this weekend, "Dr. Phil" McGraw's spokeswoman Terri Corigliano said in an e-mail.
"We have helped guests and potential guests in the past when they need financial assistance to come on the show — assisting with clothing allowance, lost wages, accommodations, travel and necessities," Corigliano wrote. "In this case, certain staff members went beyond our guidelines (re the bail being paid).
"These staff members have been spoken to and our policies reiterated. In addition, we have decided not to go forward with the story as our guidelines have been compromised."

How did the powers that be not know the plan? Whatever.

Dear God, I just watched the video and I cant believe it! I cant say that if I was the parent of the victim I would act in a responsible manner after watching that. All of those kids involved should spend LOTS of time in jail, they all knew full and well that they were doing wrong, they even have guards posted outside so nobody could come in to help her. Pathetic.

I saw that girl's mother on tv the other day and she basically said that her daughter didn't do it and that the victim should bear some of the responsibility for what happened.

I watched the mother of the suspect on the Today show. Mom was sticking up for her, placing some of the blame on the victim..nice parenting skills..Maybe thats why the girl was living with grandma..
