An insurance plan for taffic fines. Hmmm. I wonder if it makes it's members more inclined to speed for the nominal fee. I see where it informs their customers of the increase in insurance premiums and that they will pay that. What I didn't see them explain is that how tickets will flag your driving record. Numerous tickets may make a state inclined to revoke their privileges.

Exactly! I'm sure none of the numbskulls who buy into this rubbish will notiice the numerous misspelled words and improper grammar on the website. But wait! There's more....
I suppose missing those flashing lights on the school zone sign was easier than missing that little kid running across the street!Customer testimonials
Last summer I was driving my kids to daycare. I was going 30 mph and noticed red lights behind me. I couldn't imagine what was going on. When the officer walked up and said that I was speeding in a school zone, I was confused. Turns out that summer school was in session and I missed the flashing lights when I reached down to get my son's drink cup. The ticket was over 250.00. With court cost, attorney fees, and a possible increase in my insurance, I would have been out several hundred dollars. Thank GOD I had my TCI membership card. I called and in less than 10 days, I got a letter of fulfillment sent to me informing me that the payment was sent and I was free and clear. All of this for a little over 12 dollars a month. UNREAL!!!!!

WTF?? I cannot imagine ANY state falling for this nonsense!!Q:
Can you help with points and driving records?
A:
TraffiCare International is working to build a liaison with the Department of Motor Vehicles, Department of Public Safety and local city officials to develop a point system exclusively for TraffiCare members which will start a driver off with a -2 points and work up from there. As of now, we cannot help with points being added to a driving record nor can we help with your driving record itself. The true measure of your character is what you choose to do when you think no one is looking.

So... I guess you pay this guy about a half buck a day, and if you get a ticket, he pays it, saving you the hassle of writing a check to the court?
Of course, if you don't get a ticket, he's pocketing near $180 a year off you...
Let's see... about $127 for a typical speeder, or $92 for a typical sign violation (and lots of others violations, too)... (fines & costs in Northern VA)... Let's say an average ticket total fines & costs ranging from about $90 to $162 or so...
Nice racket.
I'd suggest simply writing a check, since this company can't get you out of appearing on a mandatory appearance charge, like reckless...
Maybe it's a better deal in another state...Voting against incumbents until we get a Congress that does its job.

I think the traffic infraction system is broken, but this is a poor way to fix it.
My idea was always to add the traffic fines to your license plate renewal and tie proof of insurance to the renewal as well.
After all, the concept of traffic enforcement is to reduce violations and promote safety.

I don't have any problem with it. It's essentially a prepaid system, sort of like prepaid legal. He's not doing anything shady like promising insider information that will get people out of their tickets.
It would be wiser financially to save your own money and invest it until if/when you need to pay a ticket but this is about the free market economy and it's working for him.
My concern is that people think they can just drive around without any care for traffic law because they are covered. There's a lack of detail on the site about how it works, if it's unlimited coverage or just a certain number per year, and what your contractual obligation is as a client. I suspect there's still some sort of built in cap or he would go out of business. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

My issue with is equal protection under the law. His clients will start with -2 points on their license while everyone else is starting with 0. The rest, I agree with Xiphos....a fool and his money are soon parted.

Thats ok, just ding them with a couple of cites and that will cure that -2 points real fast. If I have someone mention that to me, I would more inclined to go ahead and ding them for the multiple cites instead of just the one I would normally write.

Ahh what another fine and ingenious way to remove personal responsibility from people. Why take your fairly earned punishment when you can pay someone else to do it for you?
